Christian Testimony-Deliverance from Abuse

Victory over Homosexuality

Editors Note:

This is a personal testimony of a friend of mine named Larry K., published with his permission. After you read it, please share some love and encouragement with Larry or maybe share some thoughts about how you can relate to his story. He is very brave for sharing his testimony with us.

Larry K.:

I was born in 1956, the second of three boys. I don’t remember much about my younger years, but I do know that my mother was a Christian, and she made church attendance a priority. I’ve gone to church all my life. Being in church at least once a week however, did not make me a Christian.

How many of you wish that something in your life were different?  “If only “this” or “that” were different, then I would be happy”….  Happy….  What in the world made any of us think that we were put on this earth to be happy?

Identity In Crisis

Gay Identity

If you feel like getting into a heated debate or argument, just mention the topic of homosexuality and the Church’s position on it, and you will most assuredly find yourself smack dab in the middle of one. It is one of, if not THE most divisive issues in America today, and I would venture as far as to say that more people are kept from the Gospel because of this than anything else.  How did this happen? Why homosexuality in-particular ?  And as Christians how should we respond?

Jesus, Friend of Sinners by Casting Crowns

February 13, 2013 By KarenSmith 3 Comments

Casting Crowns

Many times Christains are called judgemental.  Does our behavior support this judgement on us?

Log in your eye
In Matthew 7 Jesus says, ““Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”  Judgement in the place of love is something that every person seems to struggle with at time even back then.  However, Jesus calls us not to judge.

“Let our hearts be led by mercy”
The Casting Crowns song Jesus, Friend of Sinners address this need for His love over judgement.  Take a listen to the song and read they lyrics.  How does this strong impact you?  Listen for the lyrics like “Open our eyes to the world at the end of our pointing fingers. Let our hearts be led by mercy.”  Let God uses this song to impact your heart!

Jesus, Friend of Sinners
Jesus, friend of sinners, we have strayed so far away
We cut down people in your name but the sword was never ours to swing
Jesus, friend of sinners, the truth’s become so hard to see
The world is on their way to You but they’re tripping over me
Always looking around but never looking up I’m so double minded
A plank eyed saint with dirty hands and a heart divided

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to the world at the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks yours

Yeah…

Jesus, friend of sinners, the one who’s writing in the sand
Made the righteous turn away and the stones fall from their hands
Help us to remember we are all the least of these
Let the memory of Your mercy bring Your people to their knees
Nobody knows what we’re for only what we’re against when we judge the wounded
What if we put down our signs crossed over the lines and loved like You did

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to world at the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks yours

You love every lost cause; you reach for the outcast
For the leper and the lame; they’re the reason that You came
Lord I was that lost cause and I was the outcast
But you died for sinners just like me, a grateful leper at Your feet

‘Cause You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever
You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever
You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever
You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to world at the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks Yours

And I was the lost cause and I was the outcast
Yeah…
You died for sinners just like me, a grateful leper at Your feet
