The Word of God is encouraging! In 2 Timothy 3:16 it says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”. What a great gift God has given us with His Living Word. How has His Word impacted you? Please tell us what your favorite verse is and why it is your favorite? n
Ephesians 1:12 For those of us who have first trusted in Christ shall be to the praise of His glory. (my semi-paraphrase) Of course Paul was speaking to the early church, but it for us today; this should be our daily cry. TO BE TO THE PRAISE OF HIS GLORY. This verse has had a great impact on my life for many years and I came up with this phrase “I shall be to the praise of God’s Glory and if need be, I will use words.” I have many more favorite verses, but this seems to be my calling. Well, that is the gist of it..
Romans 8:28 (NAV)- We know that all things work for good, for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose./ (NKJV)- And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. This verse of scripture is from Paul’s letter to the Christians at Rome however I believe it (and ALL of the Word) is for us today. This scripture is literally my favorite because it says so much about God’s saving grace for those who love Him and and who are called according His purpose. I’ve seen this Word, play out in my life and in the life of others, over and over again. I’ve seen so many negative circumstances be worked together for good by God. It just resonates deep within my heart!
Now my favorite Verse is 1Jn 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 1Jn 4:17 Tells me what is required of me, and what privilege God has given me to fulfill it. Not that we can earn salvation But that we need Boldness And Jesus gives us the life that fulfills it, He in us and we doing, being as he is! May God bless to His Glory Amen!
Ephesians 6:13- “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” For 3 years I spent my life fighting my own sin, trying in vain to hold back evil thoughts and judgemental remarks (etc.). I thought I should be fighting, and God would give me strength to overcome it. It was exhausting, aging me, making me desperate and depressed because no progress had been made 3 years later. Then I cracked. I had a mental breakdown. I was exhausted physically, spiritually, and mentally. My dad told me about this verse, which I had heard and read MANY times before, and I finally understood what God was trying to tell me…. It is His war to fight and win. All I have to do is stand strong in faith and let God handle my sins. I fight….to surrender to Him.
