I read the English Standard Version of the bible after feeling that my King James was not all that it was said to be. I grew as a Christian and profited tremendously from the ESV, and I was in the position many people find themselves in about bible versions and for months i had lifted up some prayers to God asking for his word in the English language. God gave me the spirit to search out, but my answer didn’t come audibly from heaven as i would have it. It ended up building my faith, like God does, as i saw the flaws in many of these translations. Zondervan is owned by Harper Collins, and Zondervan owns the copyright to the NIV. Harper Collins also prints the Satanic Bible and other poor works that your money is used to print, stamp, and publish. Stewardship is something God calls us to, and to buy anything from Zondervan is poor stewardship. In my search I built a conviction for the King James Bible, but im also aware you don’t need one to grow as a Christian, God can use the ESV or NIV or NASB to speak to your heart and change you, i’ve experienced this, but it is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing to pray about, to get Gods’ words. These bibles have copyrights and they have to alter a certain percentage from the other one to avoid paying royalties to the other, it’s things like this i never knew. I don’t want to just bash a translation and tell you to read mine, i studied, and that’s my comment and im done. Im saying that there are problems with where we buy are books from, and we should be aware. I want to help. Thanks, if you read this….
