Last week we posted an article about the song, The Stand by Hillsong United. The song clearly demonstated God’s glory and our dependence on Him. This week our song focuses on our role as the body of Christ.
The Body of Christ
“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.” 1 Corinthians 12:12.

If We Are The Body – Casting Crowns
It’s crowded in worship today
As she slips in trying to fade into the faces
The girl’s teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know
But if we are the body
Why aren’t His arms reaching?
Why aren’t His hands healing?
Why aren’t His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren’t His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way
A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat and quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgemental glances
Tells him that his chances are better out on the road
Jesus payed much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the body of Christ
Jesus is the way
What do you think?

This song ist right on target. We are to judgemental also in Church. I am a Deacon in a Lutheran Church and will try to put that song in the worship songs ( Copyrights.) I did hear this song before, but never locked at this way, wow thank you for open my eyes.
I agree with this song. I’ve been there felt that way, have left churches when I was younger because of it. I even blamed God and asked why. Why are Christians so insensitive, judgemental, etc. One thing someone told me is that my relationship is between me and God. That stuck with me but I have encountered such things again, and now I decided I need to change others by being like Christ. If others don’t do it, they are missing out but the lives I can change are important to me. It hurts my heart to see fellow christians be so out of tune with what God has in his heart and that is people. I was recently trying to explain this to some christians after the chick fill a controversy how it isn’t our right to force our beliefs down peoples throats but to exercise our beliefs through our actions of love, compassion, and grace just as Christ would do.
